Transfer of Students into DIVISION 1/REGISTERED NURSE REGISTRATION PROGRAMS

Category: Teaching and Learning

Date Approved: Feb 2009

All programs for Division 1/Registered nurse registration are different in terms of the sequencing of units and program requirements. Because of this individuality, it is extremely difficult to accept transfer students from other preregistration/Initial Registration courses and maintain the appropriate sequencing for the students’ learning process and preparation for assessment.

Each student requesting transfer will have their current program evaluated for consistency of course sequencing, program requirements and compatibility with the specific VCHN program for Division 1/Registered nurse registration .

The VCHN College of Health and Nursing (VCHN) also requires that at least 50% of the course hours required for the VCHN qualification must be completed at VCHN College of Health and Nursing.

The Training Manager will be review the transfer course content to see whether it is comparable with the current course at VCHN to determine if transfer is appropriate. Transfer of credits from an external course will be considered from another Registered provider of programs for Division 1/Registered nurse registration for students.

Students requesting a transfer are considered for admission on a student space available basis.

All responsibility for providing documentation for the transfer will be with the student.
